Sofia Silva, PAC – Artistic Choreographic Projects
Started her studies in dance with Paula Careto and at Rui Horta Dance School. Master degree in Dance by the Lisbon Superior Dance School. Had complementary formation in workshops with: Nigel Charnock, Ramon Oller, Javier de Frutos, Catherine Diverrés, Wolfgang Mass, Samuel Western, Donna Uchizono, Martha Moore, Wilson Domingues, Clara Andermatt, João fiadeiro, Paulo Ribeiro, Francisco Camacho, Bernardo Montet, Pedro Berdayes, Dieter Heitkamp, Tere O’Connor. Has participated in Danse Bassin Méditerranéen, in Lisbon.
Works as an independent choreographer, since 1994. Has presented her work in Portugal, Netherlands, Spain, Scotland, Luxembourg and Palestine.
Participated with her creations in the following Festivals: Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival, Palestine; Fontys Dance Festival, Nederland; Escena Contemporánea – V Festival Alternativo de las Artes Escénicas, Madrid, Spain; Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Edinburg, Scotland; in Portugal: II and V editions of Quinzena da Dança de Almada; Festival Dança Para 4 Estações, Sintra; III Festival de Dança Contemporânea de Portimão; VII and IX Festival Internacional Dança em Paisagens Urbanas / Lugar à Dança; Festival dança in Leiria.
Presented her work in Oporto European Capital of Culture 2001, and Luxembourg European Capital of Culture 2007.
