Project
Of Learning
This project will be developed as part of the drawing course of SNBA (4th year students) and is based on a clear pedagogic structure, intimately relating drawing experimentation with the application of a projectual methodology.
Inscribed within the program of this drawing course, this project based pedagogic unit will be displaced from the space of the classroom to be disseminated at Drawing Spaces.
Of Learning… starts from an existing space, and the use of its constitutive plans as structures, as well as support, for an appropriation of such space through the desire of drawing that exists in each student (and in each of us).
Through a group of students with an heterogeneous formation (both in terms of age and academically), the presented project aims to explore and make possible the passage from a conceptualized experimentation to an effective materialization of a drawing object.
In this project, drawing will have the primordial role of structuring visual thinking, while simultaneously looking for a sense of composition in space and an exploration of the graphic language. In this sense, within this appropriation, drawing will play equally a relevant role as instrument of bi-dimensional and tri-dimensional visualization; between ideas, their development and the final product.
With a fundamental temporal dimension, this project will progress on a weekly basis from the classroom to be integrated at Drawing Spaces, through modules which will correspond to each one of those moments. Through these integrated collection of knowledges and temporalities, transported from the classroom to the public space, the Learning Time will be retained in the work, opening itself to the reading of a process which translates a modus operandi and a methodology, as well as an intervention which is specifically respondent to the original space of its existence.
While transposing physical and architectonic barriers between locations of a same city, where the process is initiated in one location (SNBA) and a different location serves as receptor for a certain dissemination (Drawing Spaces), the aim of this project is to serve simultaneously as an exercise of experimentation and Of Learning, interconnecting methods and processes that constitute a drawing language, such as representation, composition and creativity.
