Paulo Brighenti
Lives and works in Lisbon. In 1996 he completed his degree in Painting at Ar.Co, Lisbon. He has been a Lecturer in Painting at Ar.Co since 2000. He has been responsible for the Drawing Department at Ar.Co since 2008. Paulo Brighenti has exhibited regularly since 1996. In 2002 he was awarded a drawing prize by the Vieira da Silva Foundation, Lisbon.
In 2006 he was short-listed for the Sovereign Foundation - European Art Prize, London.
Some of his most relevant solo exhibition were Untitled (the walk) at Fa Projects, London (2001), Lo specchio, the mirror and the motorhead series at Pedro Cera Gallery, Lisbon (2005), The radiohead series at Baginski Gallery, Lisbon (2006), Pintura at Pedro Oliveira Gallery, Oporto (2008), Drawings from the series destroyed room at Nogueira da Silva Museum, Braga (2008) and is this desire? at Porta 33 Gallery, Funchal (2009).
He participated in several collective exhibition, such as Os últimos dias at Centro de Arte Moderna from FCG, Lisbon (2000), Uma Jornada (with Rui Vasconcelos) at Porta 33 Gallery, Funchal (2001), Pegadas de Luz at CGAC, Santiago de Compostela, (2003), Guardi – A Arte da Memória at CCB, Lisbon (2003), Sovereign Foundation- European Art Prize at Bohnams Gallery, London, (2006), Desenhar o desenho [Drawing the drawing] at Baginski Gallery, Lisbon (2007), Transfert, works from the CAM collection, at Francisco Tavares Proença Júnior Museum, Castelo Branco, (2007), Vestígio, Pavilion 28 at Júlio de Matos Hospital, Lisbon (2009).
