SNBA - National Society of Fine Arts
The National Society of Fine Arts (SNBA) is a cultural association founded on the 16th of March, 1901, which has been recognized as an institution of public utility by law on the 29th of June 1914, and has its centre located at Rua de Barata Salgueiro, Lisbon. Its main aim is to promote and support the progress of art in all its manifestations, to defend the artists’ interests, specially of those associated to the institution, searching to help them both morally and materially, and to cooperate with the state and other competent entities in everything that concerns national art and benefits national art as well as the development of artistic culture.” (translated from the 1st Article of rules of the Institution)
